Meghan Markle is reportedly furious over the Royal Family’s latest move to exclude her, according to a source.
On Sunday, September 15, Prince Harry celebrated his 40th birthday, and he received public birthday messages from both King Charles’ official Royal Family account and from Prince William and Princess Kate’s account on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The Royal Family’s account shared a post at 8:28 a.m., saying, “Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!” along with a smiling photo of Harry.
The original photo, however, included Meghan sitting next to Harry, but she had been cropped out by the photographer.
This gesture may have been an attempt by King Charles to extend an olive branch to his son, signaling his willingness to mend their relationship.
Alternatively, it might suggest that Meghan is no longer a priority for the Royal Family, especially after her public criticism of the institution over the past few years.
A similar birthday message was shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ account just over two hours later, reading, “Wishing a Happy 40th Birthday to The Duke of Sussex!” Although Prince William and Princess Kate are not on speaking terms with Harry, it’s unlikely the post was made without their consent.
The decision to use an image of Harry alone, without Meghan, reportedly left her furious.
A source told Heat magazine, “Meghan is happy for Harry because she knows how much this means to him, but she’s understandably upset as well. She believes the message being sent is that the Royal Family is ready to forgive Harry, but not her.” The source added, “Choosing a picture without her felt symbolic, like a snub, whether intentional or not, and she’s said to be fuming about it. She refuses to be pushed out this way.”
The insider told Heat: “She’s happy for Harry because she knows how much this means to him, but she’s understandably upset, too.
“She thinks it could be sending the message that it’s Harry they’re ready to forgive.”
“It seems obvious they’d take him back in a heartbeat and, as usual, Meghan’s the one in the wrong.
“Picking an image without her in it felt symbolic and like a snub – whether intended or not – and by all accounts, she’s fuming about it.
“She refuses to be pushed out like this.”
